Here's my list of favorite websites to sell all that extra closet clutter and make extra CASH:

#1. TRADESY
My ALL TIME FAVORITE website to sell used clothes on is TRADESY Reason being I have sold a TON of my clothes, wristlets, purses, shoes, beach bags, and even some of the make up I bought & never ended up using on TRADESY! Don't believe me here's a screenshot of my total sales!!
Not only are sales great but if your not very big on shipping the items yourself TRADESY will also send you a prepackaged shipping kit with packing materials and a shipping bag with a prepaid label when one of your items sells OR You can also choose to ship your own item using your own packing & materials if you chose. Tradesy does take a 9% commission for each sale but that commission is pretty low compared to ALOT of the other apps & sites. After your item is scanned by USPS (that usually happens within a few hours of pickup) they deposit the money into your account and turns into TRADESYCASH which you can then use to buy other items on their website or you can cash the money out to paypal for 2.9% Transfer fee that Paypal charges! Their app is NOT the greatest for buying items, but its make selling your items VERY EASY & your items will usually sell pretty quickly if you take good pictures & price them well! ALSO IF YOU DECIDE TO BUY MORE ITEMS WITH YOUR TRADESY CASH AT SOME POINT YOU MUST USE THIS LINK TO JOIN TO RECEIVE $20 OFF YOUR FIRST PURCHASE OF $50 OR MORE! #2. Poshmark
Poshmark is a free app available for Androids or IPhones. If you use INVITE CODE: HWJDS when signing up you will receive a $5 CREDIT to use at any time! Listing is pretty easy through the app & so is shopping! Poshmark does have a website but you can't use it to list any of your items! Their selling commission is 20% for all items over 15 and a flat rate of 2.95 for all items under 15. The commission is a little high but its definitely dealable considering the ease of app use & ease of listing your items. When your item sells you will receive an e-mail to the e-mail account you signed up with your shipping label included AND an app notification right to your phone. All you have to do is print the label & ship it. After the buyer receives the item and rates the sale your money turns into POSH CASH to use to buy other items or you can deposit the money into your bank account which usually happens within 2-3 days. Don't forget to use your INVITE CODE: HWJDS for your $5 CREDIT!
#3. MERCARI
MERCARI IS A FREE App available in MOST app stores. If you use INVITE CODE: TFNDSF you will receive a $2 CREDIT when you join! Right now they aren't taking commission on sales during their app launch period. (That could change at any moment, but at this moment its 0% commission on your sales) You can cash out by having the money deposited to your bank account. They won't let you use the cash from sales as credit you have to deposit the money in your bank account(which usually takes between 2-3 business days then if you want to buy something you will have to use your credit card. For item shipping they do allow shipping with your own items or a prepaid shipping label. Don't forget to use your INVITE CODE: TFNDSF after you join for your $2 CREDIT!
Here's my best tips on listing your items for sale:
- Always use the INVITE CODES/LINKS WHEN YOU JOIN THE SITES! You can only use them when you first sign up. If you don't use it that CREDIT is now GONE FOREVER! You may not plan on buying anything or think you ever will, but TRUST ME at some point you will find something you absolutely have to have so why not have the credit there for when you do. Not using the INVITE CODES/LINKS is like THROWING AWAY FREE MONEY!
- Whatever your going to list YOU have to take GOOD PICTURES!
- I advise picking out all the items your going to sell during closet CLEAN OUT, hang the items 1 by 1 on your room door & then start snapping pictures of the FRONT & BACK of the items using a smartphone or whatever camera you have. (MAKE SURE THE PICTURES ARE WELL LIT & YOU CAN SEE THE ITEMS WELL OR ELSE THEY WON'T SELL!) When your done taking pictures of the clothes try to put them ALL TOGETHER. Personally I take them all off the hangers, fold them nicely and then put them all in one giant trash bag. Reason being when something you list sells its easy to FIND it, grab it out of the bag, & SHIP IT. BOOM! You made money that quick without a huge hassle!
- On sites that don't offer their own shipping materials I use Unites States Postal Service FLAT RATE Priority mail boxes! Why you ask? Because (you can pick a few boxes of each size at any post office near you and keep them around the house for when an item sells to make life easier, also if you use priority mail you can schedule a pick up right on the usps site for pick up at your normal mail delivery time AND the important PART is if any item you ship with United States Flat Rate Priority Mail gets damaged on the way to your buyer your already covered as long as your pack it correctly! Each flat rate box covers up to $50 INSURANCE for damage and its already included in the price.
- List your items on multiple apps to sell the items the quickest but DON'T FORGET TO DELETE THE LISTINGS OFF THE OTHER APPS ONCE YOUR ITEM SELLS SOMEWHERE ELSE!
- Be NICE to your potential buyers & answer their questions it will help your items SELL FASTER! The faster you answer their question the less likely they are to look for your item somewhere else or buy it somewhere else!
- Don't misrepresent your item on the apps & sites. TAKE PICTURES OF EVERYTHING! Buyers can be picky & they WILL RETURN the items if you don't tell them about any issues or marks and some sites will BAN you if you have more than 1 or 2 returns for misrepresenting your items!
